| Pierce Green team: Art project is a great success |
We wish to thank all the students who submitted beautiful green-themed artwork for our last Think Earth Thursday project of the year. If you have not yet seen the display, please try to stop by the main entrance before end of day on Monday! It is truly inspirational. We would like to thank the Pierce teachers for their support, including our wonderful art teacher Mr. Rae, and to especially extend our thanks to Dr. Smith-Mumford for her daily reminders and encouragement.
Several artists-in-residence were asked to help select pieces for a Green Exhibit at the Brookline Public Library over the summer. We thank them for helping out with this important process: Eka Marineli, John Murray and Jessica Roland.* We hope you will have a chance to see this great exhibit in the Hunneman Room (upstairs in the main library), which will feature work of students from several of the Brookline public schools. Come see Pierce students' work on display.
Wishing you all a wonderful, green summer!!

*Please note that none of the judges were allowed to vote for his/her own child. |
Teacher websites |
Pierce school teachers work over the summer. Many of them have created their own webpages. Look for the
apple near the teacher's name for their website. |

The 6th Grade Barakat Communication Committee is sharing their Barakat efforts on a blog. Please check it out! http://phar.edublogs.org/. Many sixth graders and teachers participated on Saturday, October 24th, as part of Barakat's 2nd Annual Walk for Literacy. Contact Melissa London if you want to contribute.
